Stranded in Siberia, Kat and Ben must navigate the snowy wastes to make it to Moscow so they can stop the god Veles from taking over their world. But surprises lurk in the north, one from her past days in Empress Catherine's court, and the other a creature out of legend. To survive, Kat needs to confront more than her past.

Dragons of Siberia The Dashkova Memoirs Book 7 edition by Thomas K Carpenter Literature Fiction eBooks

This past weekend I finished a book, the seventh book in “The Dashkova Memoirs” by Thomas K. Carpenter. It is called “Dragons of Siberia,” and I enjoyed it very much. This may contain spoilers if you haven’t read any of the other books, which you totally should.

Kat has gone on quite an adventure since the first installment, and is now trapped in the wildlands of Russia with her rag-tag group of friends. The book starts with Kat and her friend Rowan Blade trekking through the wilds, trying to find a way into the capital without attracting too much unwanted attention. Kat proves that she is stubborn and refuses to accept help from anyone, and this pig-headed way of hers sets the rest of the events in the story in motion.

I still love Kat. She is a stubborn heroine, always resourceful and forever positive. She admits that she’s made mistakes, but she refuses to look back, and only goes forward. When Kat meets her daughter, Ana in an unexpected place, she does her best to make up for her actions in the past, but refuses to be shamed by what she felt was the right decision at the time.

While the overall book had a pretty serious tone, there were a couple places where I laughed out loud. I particularly like the line about Kat whispering into Catherine’s ear. The enemies and battlegrounds in this book were interesting, and while there is a plot twist that, in retrospect, was pretty obvious, it’s also clear that Kat probably wouldn’t have seen it coming, even if the reader could have.

Overall, I enjoy Carpenter’s writing style. It’s a quick and dirty read that is always entertaining. I’m excited to read the final book in the series.

Dragons of Siberia The Dashkova Memoirs Book 7 edition by Thomas K Carpenter Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Totally hooked on this series.
I received this book from the author in exchange for this honest review.
If one likes the supernatural and surreal this is the book for you. It blends characters from out of the past with the supernatural ones to tell an intriguing story.
I was gifted this ARC for an honest review. That said, I love this series and have read all seven books; it has parts history and plenty of entertaining non stop paranormal action. Kudos to the author for bringing the series to an exciting conclusion and for so vividly painting the landscapes and inhabitants of multiple universes.
I received a copy of this in exchange for my honest review..
As others mentioned this has a neat blend of supernatural and historical.. This is the 7th book in the series. Normally I can not read a series out of order, but I had just finished Book 3 when this came out and I wanted to review. I do not think you necessarily have to read all of the books that come before, but it does help. I enjoy the author's writing. I do not have a great imagination personally, but he paints vivid pictures. I have read 4 out of the 7 books in the series and I will read the other 3. If you read the synopsis and think it sounds like your cup of tea, then you should definitely pick it up. Something different.
Dragons of Siberia (The Dashkova Memoirs Book 7) by Thomas K. Carpenter is a great fantasy novel. Kat finds herself in another adventure. She is a wonderful main character that is stubborn but resourceful. She definitely puts venture in adventure. You find her first traveling to the capital. From here the adventures begin.

I really love the story telling of Thomas K. Carpenter. He pulls you into his story and keeps you wanting more. I'm always pleased when I can't find any obvious grammatical errors. The characters are well developed and likable. The only thing I wish was to see a bit more lighter moments, this book had quite the serious tone.

I would recommend this book for any reader. I truly believe you will enjoy it. I would recommend reading the previous six as it just makes the plot a bit smoother. You won't regret it.

Because Requires It I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review.
Thomas Carpenter's Dashkova Memoirs are always engaging and Dragons of Siberia is no exception. I highly recommend it and the others in this series. I have found this series to be full of unexpected twists and delightfully complex characters.
