I have always loved the flavor and texture of smoked meat. While telling a friend about this, they said "Why don't you get your own smoker?" And I said "Yeah, maybe I will!!" I have no idea why it got so heated... But I wanted to get some more information, before I took the plunge, so I knew what I was getting into.This book was a really great starter guide for just my situation. It gives you a lot of recipes, and ways to cook all kinds of meat, from fish and chicken, to bacon, and ribs. There's even a recipe on how to make your own sausage, then smoke it! This book literally tells you how the sausage is made.
While there are instructions to actually build your own smoker at home, it looked a little too complicated for someone like me, who has absolutely no talent for that kind of thing. But if you are the type of person who could do that, and wants to, there is a guide in this, with all of the steps, and pictures of the entire process. I think I will just purchase my own smoker instead.
The only bad thing that I can say about this guide, is that the pictures of the prepared food looked so good, that now I'm hungry. CURSE YOU CLAUS ERNST!!

Good read. A lot of beneficial information. Looking to start smoking one day and this was a good read to start with.
This is a great book that covered everything that I needed to know about making my own smoked meats. From the history of smoking, how to build a smoker, preparing the meats, awesome recipes, and even how to make my own sausages.
It has a lot of great photos throughout, which makes everything easy to learn, plus all the instructions are really well explained.
If you're looking to get into doing some smoke oven goodness of your own, I recommend this book.
I have had an obsession with smoked meats for years since my Grandfather used to make them when I was a child and sadly after he passed I just haven't been able to really enjoy the smoked meats I have eaten in the years since. So when I decided to give smoking my own meat a try I found "Smoke Oven Plans Smoke Oven Secrets" to help me make the effort truly delicious and successful. What I liked about this book was that it offered readers not only secrets to making truly delicious meats, but helped in building an affordable and effective smoke oven. Claus Ernst skillfully delves into the world of smoked meats and smoke ovens with a great deal of experience and a lot of passion, transferring his knowledge and love of smoked meats to the reader. Overall, this proved to be a great choice for me to make fresh, flavorful and affordable smoked meats of my own and I would definitely recommend it to others looking to do the same,
